With so much importance placed on how we look within society today, Steven Kelly expresses (using spray paints and illustrations) the ugly truth behind all of our self portraits. With the same foundations as everyone else, it is only society and the people within it who have placed so much importance on how we appear on the outside. This often causing discrimination and overwhelming amounts of anxiety, due to feeling a constant need to look perfect. Make-up, fake tan, fake eyelashes, pristine hair; all a facade, another layer, masking who we really are.
